Apple Mac Mini MD387LL/A Desktop (NEWEST VERSION)

Apple Mac Mini MD387LL/A Desktop (NEWEST VERSION)
I bought a Mac Mini to replace an old PC. It is the best all around Mac. It is inexpensive and you can use your current monitor or plug it into a flat screen TV. I have the Apple Keyboard and Magic Track pad which make it an ideal machine if you do a lot of graphics. After reviewing Windows 8, I decided to go to Mac. I like the Mountain Lion OS because it is similar to iOS 6 on my I Pad and I Pod Touch. If I do decide on getting Windows 8 at a later date I can install it with Parallels. I replaced my old Mac with the I Pad and now I have both. Of course it works like a charm as to most Apple products.

Well, it's a Mac. It works fine, and all the software seems to run pretty well. I am the IT Administrator for a local school and we are deploying iPads in our school this year. We needed a single Mac computer to centrally manage the iPads, and this one was cheap and fit the bill. It's a decent little computer, and would probably be great for the average user who wants a basic computing experience. It doesn't come with a keyboard, mouse or monitor. Regular Windows PC keyboards and mice (USB only) work just fine with it. I did have to buy a DisplayPort to VGA adapter to connect one of our monitors to it though. Everything was recognized and worked without any issues. I was able to join it to our Microsoft Active Directory domain without any problems, and it also connected right up to our wireless network without a hitch. All in all, it's going to be perfect for our purposes. I still prefer Windows over MacOS, but MacOS is not a bad little OS by any means.

Product Description Mac mini features third-generation Intel Core processors, faster integrated graphics, Thunderbolt, and plenty of ports. Expect big things. With third-generation Intel Core processors, Mac mini keeps up with computers twice its size. You can choose a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5. Or go for an even more powerful 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 for up to two times the performance of the previous-generation dual-core Mac mini. When you're using processor-intensive applications, Turbo Boost 2.0 increases the clock speed up to 3.6GHz. Hyper-Threading lets each core run two threads, so OS X multitasks even more efficiently. And an integrated memory controller connects fast 1600MHz memory directly to the processor, so it gets right to work on your data. In short, Mac mini is a little box of vroom. Intel HD Graphics 4000 delivers up to 65 percent more pixel-pushing performance than the previous generation of integrated graphics. So the video you watch and the games you play are smoother and more responsive. Flipping through photo albums is a breeze. And you've got all the power you need to edit your HD video into a film worthy of a red carpet premiere.
