Intel Next Unit of Computing Kit with Dual HDMI, Gigabit LAN, Core i3-3217U DC3217IYE

I love this little computer! I bought two of them. I needed a small, quite, energy efficient PC that could play HD videos and interlaced TV. I was so close to just building my own when I came across this. I bought a single 4GB stick of Patriot RAM, and a Cruzer 8 GB flash drive. I run openELEC (XBMC) off of a USB drive on my NUC. This little box can do it all. The HD4000 graphics so far haven't given me any issues. I stream full 30GB MKV rips of Blu Rays from an unRAID NAS and it plays them without breaking a sweat. I also have a MythTV server that streams live TV to it, and again, it handles it all just fine. The picture quality is great. No stuttering. I run the Aeon NOX skin, which is kind of heavy. It is very fast even with the Aeon skin and most of the widgets enabled, this is from running off a USB. I'm sure it would just scream with a mSATA drive. I can't think of another box that does everything this box does. Sure there are cheaper ones out from Foxconn and Zotac. With the NUC you get a more attractive box IMO, an intel motherboard, and i3 and HD4000 graphics, gigE, and a fantastically small form factor. I just love it. This is my main TV viewing box. All of our media needs go through XBMC. We use this just like someone would use a cable box, or a DirecTV box. It's very important to us that it be reliable, and fast.
